The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted by all UN Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet now and in the future. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are at the heart of it, and they are an urgent call to action by all countries, developed and developing, in a global partnership. They recognize that eradicating poverty and other deprivations must be combined with strategies to improve health and education, reduce inequality, and stimulate economic growth – all while addressing climate change and working to protect our oceans and forests.

I, Asep Sunandar, serve as the chairman of ICoSIE, and I sincerely hope that this event could increase the number of high-quality research which is one strategy for achieving the 17 goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The 1st International Conference on Sustainable Development, Inclusion, and Education (ICoSIE) provides a forum for academia, government, civil society, UN agencies, and the private sector to come together to share practical solutions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This conference will be more accessible with the virtual format because the program covered time zones all over the world. It is now time for the ICoSIE, and the online format will ensure global access.
